Autumn Season | Keep WalkingNow well into the autumn season, it is important to keep walking! As the weather changes, so do many of our habits. Notice the temperature drop from a few weeks ago? The approach of the cooler season seemed sudden to me as I was enjoying the chances to walk during the month of September. With the change in the day to day temperature, it easy to drop our efforts to maintain regular exercise habits. Watch for breaks in the rainy days and make efforts to get out.

Now is the Time to Walk

This is the time to walk! Especially this year, as the smoke from summer fires have prevented many of us from walking consistently this year. Also, the Autumn season still provides plenty of dry days to get outside. We just need to watch for those good days and be ready to walk when they come.

Keep Walking

The trees are still hanging on to their leaves, but this won’t last long. Look forward to regular walks in same area to watch the trees change their colors. Besides all the greetings and colors, your body is benefiting from the regular exercise of walking. Remember, no matter what your walking speed is, it is said that even a half hour, three times a week gets you the extra aerobic exercise you need for a healthier lifestyle. All that and and fresh air too. Dress for the cooler days and warm up as you walk.

The Joy of Friendship

Not liking the feeling of being cold, I am tempted to avoid the regular walks. I highly recommend calling friends or family to invite them to walk with you! A half hour walk is a great time to build your relationships.  All the while you walk, you are stimulating your brain with conversation. If you would rather walk quietly, you can still enjoy the quiet company of a friend.  Enjoy the scenery together!
